JollySipper Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Finally done with this one! The kit itself was a joy, until it came time to fit the separate front end. Probably not perfect, but I think it turned out okay............ Thanks for looking and feel free to comment, good or bad......!
Ramfins59 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 That came out nice TJ. Maybe a little blackwash between the grille bars on the front fenders and possibly on the hubcaps...
JollySipper Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks, Guys.....!Richard, I was unsure if the grill was supposed to be open on the fenders but a wash would make it look better. I also notice that the door panel line on the fenders has disappeared! Maybe I can fix that too...........
Harry P. Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Very nice! But that blank rear license plate holder looks lonely. I'd add a period-correct plate. BTW... nice photos!
JollySipper Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Thank you, Harry....... The kit comes with several vintage license plates, should be an easy fix....!
CometMan Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Nice job, TJ. That is a really nice kit in all it's versions.
slusher Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Super sharp. I really like the color choices!!!!
DumpyDan Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Wow that looks like we could go cruzing tonight, nice work.
JollySipper Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Thanks, Guys.........! This one took about a month an a half to build, that's a long time for me..........
bbowser Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Well done, great color choices. You're right, that's a very well engineered, detailed kit. But it does fall down not having a positive placement scheme for the front clip. I had the same issue.
JollySipper Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Thank you, Gents........ The paint is just a base white with pearl white over it, then I masked for the silver/gray color, sprayed it then cleared.........
misterNNL Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Nice job brother builder.Man I wish we had more of these beautiful 40's cars in kit form!
