Sergey Posted July 19, 2018 Author Posted July 19, 2018 (edited) Finally I had a free day to open the box with TopKick parts. I didn't build 3 months, but I have something to show: I have bought dump truck decals at ModelTrucking Also Oleg Malakhov helped me to vacuum form new wind shield! Some wheel nuts and rear suspension pins (if it correct term). I will show latter what it for. I've found 4 spare disks in my spares for drive wheels. Here are MoLuminium hubs, that I will use, BUT.... ...they are smaller, then disk holes. I should punch some rings from styrene. Some brake drums. Here I made clear headlight lenses. I used moulding compaund & resin like these: Here is my efort to make working rear suspension. And tools I used. Inner part of saddle is made, using existing one as a patern. I will use "suspension pins" to fix everithing moving. 6 pieces on the left spring & 6 - on the right. Edited July 19, 2018 by Sergey
Ben Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 On those rear hubs (I mastered them) they are designed for American trucks. You’re using European wheels with a much larger center hole. Jamie has much, much better wheels and tires that would be much more accurate for your build.
Sergey Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 Thank you Ben! Can you throw a link in me with Jamie wheels?
gotnitro? Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Your working suspension looks fantastic cant wait to see more

Sergey Posted July 21, 2018 Author Posted July 21, 2018 Thank you my friends! A question: if I have Moluminum tyres with 22.5mm Inside diameter, they will suit 22" discks? Another question: Can I place an order through Moluminum.com?

By the way, does anyone have photos/schemes of cab mount brackets, front and rear, separated from the cab? I have some photos of cab mounts with the cab above. But I can' t see all of it. Specialy - rear one. Edited July 22, 2018 by Sergey
Sergey Posted July 28, 2018 Author Posted July 28, 2018 Hm... I guess Jamie doesn't ship to Russia? Tried to order right thru his site, but it require different shiping address.
Sergey Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 A little more progress. Scratchbuilt front cross members and finally asembled the frame.

Sergey Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 (edited) A very small update. Just a little one: Made up front shock absorbers Here I cut out front hubs from Italery's wheels. I used 0,2mm Line chisel from Creos. Edited October 31, 2018 by Sergey
Sergey Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) Strange! When I try to upload new photos, there is 404 Error appear. Am I the only one with this probleme? Edited November 8, 2018 by Sergey
leafsprings Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Nice work Sergey! Your scratch building work is very impressive. About the wheels, it appears you are using European style rear wheels, they have a larger center hole and larger lug pattern than American trucks.

The only probleme I can't upload new photos. I can't see anything under hidro tank & cilinder. Does anyone know: is there a transfer case on TopKick to tilt the dump bed?
Hermann Kersten Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Awesome scratchbuild Sergey, love to see this kind of work! Hermann. On 8-11-2018 at 7:42 PM, Sergey said: Strange! Sergey Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 (edited) A little update with the wheels. I have bought couple wheel sets at Jamie This is trailer set, but I will use them for rear bogie.Jamie's Rear tyres, I bought several years befor at Sourcraut, turn out 1mm wider than discs. Modern Jamie's tyres are narrower. And there is no gap between rear wheels. Iguess I should make 1mm spacer from styrene. Slightly increased the center hole on the front Italery's disc Yeah, the second set of wheels had a couple extra front hubs. ...BUT somehow, let's call it the mating plane (marked with arrow) is very narrow and the width of the brake drum - the same And if the second thing was treated with cut down spacers of 1mm polystyrene, then the first needed a piece of tube with 12-14mm diametr. I had to cut a piece out of a 16mm tube. Here is how it looks like. Edited November 16, 2018 by Sergey upload
