aurfalien Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Yep, me too.Now on my 5th or 6th build I just about test fit everything.Funny, even after reading many times to test fit, I still managed not to.In fact, for my next build, I plan to assemble using Elmars, no paint to see how it goes. Then disable, primer, test fit then paint. Still experimenting with work flows.
JollySipper Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Hey, bubbaman.... I have found that it helps a lot to read reviews on a specific kit you may be interested in. Just search the reviews forum for the next kit you want to build, or better yet look at a WIP of the kit. Sometimes the positive or negative comments will help me decide if I want to tackle the kit at all. I stick to kits that don't have a lot of problems, mainly because I don't have the skills to fix them. There's good and bad from each model company, and the older kits seem to run into the most problems....... Anyways, hope this helps some...
disabled modeler Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Me too...your not the only one in this boat. Test fitting helps...but there are those times where it just seems to happen anyway. My biggest hurdle has to be looking for the parts to restore the old ones and repairing damage done to them over the years. Still i cant refuse them...its like there crying for help...LOL..
espo Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Wait until you start blending parts from a couple of different kits together to create what ever your thinking of. That is when the fun begins.

I read as many kit reviews as i can even on kits I don't plan on buying..
randyc Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Ha! My latest build the 83 Hurst Olds doesn't have a radiator in it. It didn't want to slide up in there like I felt it should. And you can't see it's not there with the shroud and all, so I left it out. Yes it happens to all of us at some point. Randy
pharoah Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Lots of times. That's part of the 'fun' of modeling.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I keep telling myself project after project "I will test fit more often". Only to have to tell it to myself again. Indeed... you are not alone.
