I built this car ten years ago! Seems like yesterday. Still one of my all time favorites. Started out with a AMT H.U.G. body. Altered the wheelbase and tried to make it a home built funny car circa 1966. I went out of my way to find a blown 392 as a 426 might have been out of reach for a privateer back then.

I shaved the wiper arms, added valve stems, metal door handle, plumbed and wired it, and made covers for the grille and headlights. I made the decals with an ink jet printer.

When I built this car, I did it as a tribute to my friend Bruce Peterson who had just crashed his real life NY Earthshaker Alky funny car. He was badly burned and retired from driving.

Well, 10 years later and he is back behind the wheel of an all new Earthshaker Altered.!

Now when I pose a car in a wheelstand I put a driver inside!

So which kit did you find the 392?  Also, the 4 hole blower hat, that's from a different motor, right?  Some Miss Deal parts look like they may have been donated, that kit has a decent 392.

Could you offer some insight, also about the 4 hole injector hat?

The 392 was from a Miss Deal kit. I bought a few of those just for parts. I have a box full of Studebaker bodies! The hat might have been a resin piece. When I see them at shows, I buy a few.

I'm thinking now, the 4 hole blower hats that I have are from the Revell 427 Ford Parts Pack.  The only ones I've seen so far, they seem to be rare.

Looks great Walter! Love the stance, decals are well done!

Thank you, I don't know whether the decal paper changed or the ink today is different but I'm having a real hard time making decals these days.

Been thinking about trying the dry transfer method.

As an MoPar guy from wayback who owned a 66 Cuda, THUMBS UP!!!

My Cuda had a 273 though! Love those transition era funny cars!

A good friend of mine had a red '66 with white skunk stripes and Cragars, That car was beautiful!

The car in the pic is a 65! But it IS a beautiful car!

Not my friends car either! I found the pic on the internet as an example .

I would like to build a 1:1 someday.
