Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 By basic I really mean basic. A Custom Tudor. Also basic as it's box stock. Paint is Tamiya rattle can TS-14 Good old 1957 Ford, just a magnificent looking ride. Hope you guys like it. By the way, if you think the parking lot dio is cooler, please say so. Thinking about how to take the majority of my pics. 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr
Harry P. Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I really like that! And I like the plain background, too. But the parking lot dio is also cool. Maybe stick with it? It has sort of become your trademark.
BigTallDad Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Nice job on that sleeper (312 with a 4 bbl and dual exhausts). Since I hate painting black, I'm especially impressed with your results.
bbowser Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 That's a beauty! I vote for the dio backround. Like Harry said, its become your trademark (as well as seriously nice Fords)
espo Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Another great Ford build. I share your affinity for Fords of this era. I once owned this same model in white. It had been ordered with the 312 and 3 speed overdrive. With 4;11 gears it surprised many who thought it was maybe a 6 cylinder.
Jim B Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 That's a great looking Ford, Túlio. Very well done. Just finished this kit myself.
W-409 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Wow! I really like the all black body together with no whitewalls, black steel wheels and Dog Dish hubcaps... Perfect combination! The build quality is impressive as always with your builds. Very nice and clean work.
JerseyRed Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Nice engine detail, nice chrome, nice interior detail. Definitely diorama! If I ever get a few models under my belt that I'm happy with I'd like to try my hand at one.
stavanzer Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 If you watch old 1950's movies or TV, you'll note that the majority of the cars seen on the streets and freeways look like this one. The less expensive 'Plain Jane' cars always outsold their flashy brothers. Your build is a superb rendition of what the average American bought, when he bought a new car back then. This is an Outstanding Build!P.S. Bring Back the Dio. The plain background works well for this particular build, but not most of them.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Thanks for the comments guys!!! Yep, I love my dio, and will keep taking pictures with it. A trademark? That's COOL!!! I have one and didn't know!! The advantage of the plain white background is the capability to take some nice pictures indoor. The diorama is all painted dark colors, and indoor pictures don't work well. At least not with my camera. Tried every single setting, and couldn't have a decent result. The camera is a Sony Cyber Shot (DSC-W630) proudly made in Brazil (not imported from China, what a miracle). Also have a much better camera, a 1985 vintage Zenith bought when in Cuba on our way to Moscow with my dad in the '80s. The drawback? Having to have the film developed, than having to scan the pictures. A lot of work. That thing has everything manually adjustable, and I don't even remember how to use it anymore. Back in 1993, I took a lot of pictures with it when in vacation in Florida (pictures from the parks? Disney? Bush Gardens? NO!! I spent my film on cars...) Have on my Flickr some old pictures I took with it, and even scanned way back when, (who remembers the old 486 PC?) they still look good.
Intmd8r Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Very nice – really dig the “less is more” concept. You pulled this off well.
Bill J Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Very nice. I really like your take on the '57. I saw a "sleeper" that looked exactly like your model, except the car has a 427 SOHC with a C6 in it. Man, would I love to own that one
JTalmage Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) Beautiful '57. Love the all black outside treatment. Almost looks like it needs a spotlight on the A-pillar because to me, it looks like it's an undercover or government car. Men in Black maybe! hahaAs far as backgrounds, I like both of your background treatments. It's nice to see a car on it's own, as to not draw too much attention from it, but I also like seeing how it fits in a realistic environment like your parking lot. So I'm for both. One without the Y-Block would turn me off big time. I'ma big fan of those engines.
