Mopar - D Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 This is a 1968 Belvedere 4 door "Plane Jane" resin body with the AMT road runner as the donor and the slant 6 from the 64 Lindburg Belvedere
Jim B Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Nice looking Belvedere, Dan. I like your road, too.
Metal Man Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I'll echo Jim B's comments - Looks like a great, clean build and your road and guard rail look pretty darn good too!!
DumpyDan Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Nicely done, can we see a picture of the motor. Back ground is awesome looking
Foxer Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 wow ... plain Jane is right and she's looking like every every day car there was! Very cool!
Tom Geiger Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Very nice work! Reminds me of a story of course! Back in the mid 1980s a local new car dealer advertised a 1968 Belvedere 2 door with 60,000 miles at an attractive price. I ran to take a look and was immediately disappointed! Not that it was a completely bare bones car... slant 6, no power steering or brakes and manual everything else! But that it was completely rusted to pieces! I would have bought the car other than that. And of course it was that Mopar puke green! In that same era I did buy a 1967 Valiant bare bones two door sedan with 40,000 miles. I drove it as my commuter car for 3 years, bringing it up over 100,000 miles. Then one of the torsion bar boxes rotted through so I parted the car out.
om617 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Nicely done. It remind me of cars from the movie Gone in 60 seconds (1974)
Mopar - D Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 (edited) Here's the slant 6 finished. Edited November 23, 2016 by Mopar - D
Mopar - D Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 Thanks for all the comments. This build is part of a big dealership diorama project that I've been planning.
bbowser Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 That is sweet! I love these grocery-getter conversions. Nicely done.
Smitty Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I like your Plymouth Dan and I applaud your decision to make a model of a car that could get lost in a crowd of two! - At least when it was new. Now, of course it would stand out in any parking lot. Your background is exceptional as well.
57peppershaker Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Very cool build.Any more info on your road & crash rail ?
Janne Herajärvi Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Nice, you dont see 4 door sedan model`s too often..
D. Battista Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Nicely done. It remind me of cars from the movie Gone in 60 seconds (1974)That's what i thought too...Very nicely..... done and your guard rail couldn't be better...!
