JollySipper Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Hey, Guys.......... I'm wondering if there is a site that helps you look up the production numbers for a certain car? There's several cars that I would love to find out just how many were made..... Thanks a bunch for any help.........!
Rob Hall Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Easiest way to search is just google 'year make model production numbers' and you will get a number of results..
om617 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 This site has a lot of numbers on older cars.
gtx6970 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I cant speak for any other makes .But as far as Mopars are concerned . I don't think good enough records were kept to narrow it down to far. The best out there I know of gives us total production numbers for a a particular body style and in some cases drive trains, but as far as a particular color with a certain drive train numbers is impossible to know with 100% accuracy
Erik Smith Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Google search the particular car and model. There are enthusiast sites that might be able to provide intricate details. I was researching COPO Camaros and there were people keeping records of individual cars and build specifications, numbers, surviving, etc.
CometMan Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 The Standard Catalog of American Cars series has production numbers for almost all cars from the 1800's-1999. It's a 3 volume set, costs about $20 each.
Motor City Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Jerry Heasley also published a book in 1979 called something like "Production Figures for U.S. Cars". It covered roughly the 1920s to early 1970s. I have a copy of it at home. What are you looking for specifically as I also have the Standard Catalog of American Cars?

There were several cars I was wanting numbers for, One being the Charger that my old man just purchased. It's a base model '73 with a 318/auto on column but it has the Aztec appearance package. I've only seen one more with this package and it was a '74 Rallye........... Any info that you may can find would be very cool and much appreciated!

I'd suggest you sign up on the Walter P. Chrysler Restorer's Club website (there's a Dodge Charger forum there where, if this information is at all available, someone surely can give you some idea!)http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/Art Anderson
JollySipper Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 Thanks for the link, Art! I actually ran across that site while doing my own searching. Seems you have to be a member to even use their search function.........The '74 I mentioned was on forbbodiesonly....... I looked around on that site but didn't find much...............
