Psychographic Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) Right now I can't remember where I put the hood. So I'm stalled until I find it. Edited December 17, 2016 by Psychographic
Psychographic Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) I found the hood. After looking for it all day, I found it in the interior stuck to a piece of tape. Back to work. Edited December 18, 2016 by Psychographic
Psychographic Posted December 18, 2016 Author Posted December 18, 2016 I tried my best not to disturb the area around the hood, but I guess between the mods on the body and the hood it didn't line up very well. I'm getting close to having it fit with acceptable gaps. I was going to graft a Willy's split window into the back of this, but I've got the window molded in close enough now that I might as well just cut the windows into my filler piece.

TooOld Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 I found the hood. After looking for it all day, I found it stuck to a in the interior stuck to a piece of tape. Back to work.HAH ! I've done that many times , sometimes not finding the part until weeks later !It's always fun watching you do your thing !
disconovaman Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Lookin forward to seeing this one in paint, nice transformation on an otherwise basic model. The Polar lights Herbie VW is my favorite for building a stock replica. But I remember a multiple peice body 1/24 scale kit molded in red or black that is hard to find now anybody remember the company who produced it?
Chuck Most Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 It's shaping up pretty nicely. Some of the most fun projects are the ones where you just say "I'm just going to wing this and let the kit tell me how it wants to be built."
Psychographic Posted December 20, 2016 Author Posted December 20, 2016 I decided not to lengthen the hood as it would be difficult to find a place for a hinge. I did decide to add the spike the older beetles had.
paul alflen Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 THANK YOU DAVID FOR THE MINI TUTORIAL ON SB ! (styrene bondo)
