Made up the "trough". At least I figure that is what it is. On the 1:1 it would catch spills from the filling hoses/nozzles. This one sits high because of the arc and the ribs. I'll see about working it down a bit. as it is it wouldn't hold anything. I also have to look at purchasing or making some tank hatches. I'm sure I saw some on an aftermarket website but can't remember which. Could someone  take a close up photo of the ones on the kit tankers and post it with measurements?

Thanks Dan, looks like the middle part opens and the bar that crosses it has a latch at one end and a hinge at the other end. I think I can make that.

Since the truck decal guy doesn't have any ESSO decals I printed some. But I'll have to redo them as they ran when I applied the decal bonder. I guess you're supposed to wait till the ink dries.

Started adding very thin coats of primer. No choice there as this white primer tends to run & sag.

Almost forgot. The 1:1 has steps and a grab bar to get up top. So I made up some steps and flanges for the grab bar. Mine won't wrap around since I put  my access panels too close to the edge.

Yes. It ran when I sprayed the Decal Bonder at a shallow angle. reprinted the sheet and allowed it to dry first. Should be OK now.

Excellent fabrication work Pat. The rear bumper looks terrific along with the tank hatches. As they say: "necessity is the mother of invention" :D

Thanks Dennis. A second coat. I think I'll never buy Testor's spray enamels again.

You seem to have got pretty good coverage over the red plastic.  Not an easy thing to do.

I think the white primer helped with that.

Just awesome Pat you knocked this one out of the park. What are you going to build next.

Next is one or two engines, then maybe a restoration. the next truck may well be the Longhorn.
