  1. I've been slowly working away at this and have come up with a ready to go chassis. I've modified the airline holder from the kit part to have a hoop on it to hold the airlines neatly. With the tanks, I used some weathering powder from humbrol and mixed it with tamiya mark fit. Once applied and allowed to dry, a quick clear coat seals it in. I'm aiming for a used but very well looked after truck. Im after suggestions on how to proceed forward with the cab. I've played around and it doesn't seem like I'll be able to fit the floor pan in with the headlight sections fitted, so I'm unsure as to wether I should paint and fit the interior and attempt to mask the open areas (doors are going to be completed seperatly) or if I should paint the cab and then fit the interior, not being able to then fit inside to complete any necessary touch ups. Thoughts boys? cheers guys.
  2. G'day fellas, Its been quite some time since I've been active on the forum. I've had a spell from modelling and lost all motivation. I bought this as a kickstarter back into it, and I'm glad to be back at the bench. I don't have many pictures of progress at all as I haven't been taking any, and I will take better pictures soon. I'm doing this Kenworth box stock, not really having any aftermarket parts at my disposal just yet. I must say, I looked through the forum just before and some of the projects and finished builds on here are amazing. Good work guys! i do have a question for you all however. I have some humbrol "smoke" weathering powder. I also have some tamiya extra strong mark fit. Could I use the two as a wash of sorts to highlight some details? I saw on the humbrol YouTube channel that they do something similar with humbrol decalfix, so I don't really see ththe difference? Anyway, here's a picture for now, better ones will come later on. Cheers.
  3. I have loved watching this come together, and the end result is just pure amazing!
  4. This looks boss with all that black and chrome, very nice!
  5. wow, thanks for the information, I'll definitely save that for next time. it would've been hectic on the line with time against you.
  6. That's a very good looking kenworth. Nice job!
  7. Whilst any progress on making the Cat isn't happening, this has progressed. 'Tis done my friends! The pictures speak louder then words, so I hope you like what you see. Comments and criticisms are welcome!
  8. Jaw dropping. I love the way this thing looks! Excellent work!
  9. Doesn't look like I'm going to be making any progress anytime soon, with school and trying to find part time work and cadets and whatever else I'm doing this year. Even my western star has stalled, and been shelved until I find some free time. Hopefully I'll have found a kit and started by next month, I'll see how things go. cheers guys???
  10. Work continues! I feel like I'm running uphill sometimes, but it's getting there. The bonnet is now attached in its final resting place, the cab is also attached permanently to the chassis, however the sleeper is not yet. All is painted and decalled, so I'm on the home straight with this. Just little details to go, such as strobes and grab handles. thanks for looking guys, and thanks for the kind words and comments, really helps keep me motivated on this.
  11. You've done an amazing job on this, I can't get my jaw off the ground! Well done!???
  12. I'm actually not sure if they were or not, I'm pretty sure they were the sandy colour cummins used before they changed to red. I made this one red because I liked it better than the sandy colour.
  13. Lads, been a very busy few days, working hard at this and travelling around to all the hobby stores in close proximity looking for a prostar for the TAT build. Sorry for the poor pictures. I've finished the bonnet and bull bar, they are ready to be mounted on the truck, I'm making inroads with the cab, and I'm happy with the sleeper. I've added the mudflats on the back, and I'm just working on the aircleaners and exhausts at the moment. There will be another update soon, with better pictures and hopefully a near complete truck. thanks guys.
  14. I wasn't even aware of a conversion kit for these. I was going to attempt remaking the outside features myself, and have a try at an interior conversion. But if the work has already been done, I'm definitely interested in a kit. How much are they?
  15. Looking to make this out of an international prostar. The cat and the prostar are basically the same truck, just badged different with a different engine and gearbox. I don't have the kit as of yet, I'm working on getting one. I plan on getting the moebius kit for this project. Its great to see so much inspiration again on the forum though. I look forward to seeing all your work guys!
  16. Holy moly! Wow, that is incredible! Well done on this awesome looking rig!??
  17. G'day fellas, had a major burst of motivation over the last few days, and have been working hard on my rig. The bonnet and cab are now painted, and the interior is done. Sleeper is assembled and awaiting a coat of primer. Bull bar is out in the shed drying, as I just painted silver on it. More to come, stay tuned!
  18. at the moment it's not built, still lays untouched. Work will begin soon however. Is this what your after?
  19. I'd definitely like to be involved, I'd like to try making an international pro star into a Cat ct630. If I can get my hands on a prostar kit, and the money for it. I loved watching the BRBO builds, it was awesome to see so much creativity!
  20. as far as I know and have seen, it seems to be the same sleeper as the brown version I've seen. I can get measurements if you would like me too. Kilrathy, or JT? Which do you prefer? Thanks for the kind words, I never knew about the tanks. All I did was make the appropriate holes in the chassis, and glue one on at a time, leaving them to fully dry. Long process, but it ensured I didn't knock them off. I'll post an update soon, as I have made more progress. merry Christmas to you all! daniel
  21. thanks for alerting me to that, I'll remove it right away! Cheers mate!
  22. Hey guys, this will be as far as this truck gets for a while, starting year eleven next year and have been in-undated with holiday homework, so I've had to shelve my hobby for a bit. I'll will return to this, once I have the homework out the way. i have mocked up the cab, primed the bonnet, and dryfitted it all on to the chassis. I'm loving how it looks, and I hope the sticky taped cab will motivate me to return to it afterwards. thanks for your support on this build guys. daniel.
