Kit Basher Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Thanks, Dann! I can't believe the prices they're asking for this kit. When I bought this one, I thought it was just another kit. Now I feel really lucky. I hope you can find a good deal on one.
Kit Basher Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 BTW, if anybody wants the hippie decals for this thing, let me know, I'll never use them.
gatorincebu Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Hugh, You have done a really fine job on this one. Your weathering is spot on as they say. My question to you is .Why did you mount the roof rack that way?I have one of these I am about to finish up. There will be a couple of surfboards on the roof rack and a skate board in the back. Be Well Gator
Kit Basher Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 Thanks, Chris!.Why did you mount the roof rack that way?No particular reason. It fits good that way and looks OK to me. Thanks, Gator!
oldcarfan Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Really nice. I have this kit as well. I bring it out occasionally and work on it, then put it back in the box. Don't know why!
Chuck Most Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Very cool! Always nice to see one of these rare birds built up.
GTC Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Looks great. The details and weathering are awesome.
Tom Geiger Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Perfect! I love everything you did, the rubber gasket on the roof windows was the final detail. At first I thought your side glass needed edges painted, but I looked at a few 1:1 photos and saw it to be exactly what you did! Now RM... where the heck is this kit? I'm sure this would be a good seller not only here but as a Revell of Germany release for Europe.
Kit Basher Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Thanks, Ron!Thanks, Tom!One cool thing about this kit is that the side glass frames, and the doors are all separate pieces. So it could be built several different ways, from a completely open "pickup", to fully enclosed as I have done. With a little effort it could be done as a half cab or a panel truck. One of these followed me down the road yesterday. I wanted to pull the guy over and ask him a million questions. I haven't seen one in a very long time. Edited February 11, 2017 by Kit Basher
Hubert Rollins Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Awesome job!! Weathering looks excellent to me!!
