I posted this here since it's closer to an S.U.V. than a car. This is a little project that I've been wanting to start for a while. The car is AMT 76 Gremlin. The chassis is the Monogram Jeep CJ 7. The engine is a combination of the two. It's had an axle flip and lift blocks added. I never liked blocks on the front of the real thing, but with the axle flip, blocks allow a little more room for the steering.

Here's what I have so far:

Looks great and the wheel base is even right. Years ago I lived at Pismo Beach Calif. and a few of the guys that rolled their 4x4's in the sand dunes would sometimes pick up a regular full size what ever and mount that on their 4x4 chassis. Used to see some very interesting rigs sometimes. Look forward to seeing how this goes. Do you have any chassis pictures yet??

Thanks Guys!!

Coming along nicely, love the color choices. Where did the wheels and tires come from? They don't look like kit pieces to me.

Thanks Mike!! I had a real nice nice set of wheels that a nice fellow gave me, but I'm saving those for another project. These are actually kit wheels that I widened.  I got the tires off of Ebay. I think that the company's name was arrow, but I'm not sure.

looks great so far Brian!

good way to use a gremlin. judging by the way the tread on all 4 hawgs is pointing in the right direction, going to take a guess and say S.U.?

black hood should pick up the black stripes nicely too. any idea's for the front end? stock bumper with a pushbar?

Thanks Dan! I made a pipe bumper with the winch from the jeep kit mounted to it.

Thanks John! The tires are from Arrowhead accessories, the wheels are kit wheels from the parts box that I widened.

Thanks for all that Brian! I had to ask, you know how I am with the trucks and slightly over-sized tire deal... I got uses of that sort of thing all through my pick-up truck collection!
