I remember a science-fiction movie called "The Hidden" I believe it had a good chase scene involving a red Ferrari.

It's been decades since I've seen the film. I also can't find a video clip online either.

Does anyone remember the chase scene?

How about the race scene in the movie Against all Odds? The race is between Jeff Bridge's red Porsche 911 turbo up against James Woods in his black Ferrari,308.The scene is pretty crazy, and it's one hell of a good race.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned The Italian Job.  A bunch of Mini's running around like they are nuts.  That would be both versions.  Also one of my favorites but it doesn't necessarily fit and that is the Steve McQueen motorcycle chase in The Great Escape.  Also almost every Bond Film ever made had at least one great motor vehicle chase, whether it be car, aircraft or boat.

Styrene, that's great.I remember that chase.A Hilarious Japanese couple hanging on for dear life, while Chevy Chass drives..Then it's perfect,as they wave the flag,at the end. They turned out to love the car chase..bang bang ..Kojack.???

Here's a strange movie.I never watched the whole thing,I really only watch the sort of strange car chase,involving,I believe a 72-73 Mustang  351 Mach 1,and the other car was,I think,was a black four door oIdsmobuick.POS!!The chase is cool,but a bit weird.Also,worth mentioning,if I haven't yet,was Dabney Coleman in Short Time.Another crazy chase

It's hard to beat "edge of the envelope" stunt driving and stunt coordinating by Remy Julienne. I can often recognize his chase scenes in movies I've never seen just by the balls-out, break-neck speed, accuracy and creativity of the driving and filming of such.

A few good lesser-known vintage films:

Drive a Crooked Road (1954) starring Mickey Rooney as a sports car racer/mechanic who gets hooked into being the wheelman for a bank heist in a souped up '40 Ford sedan; lots of great vintage sports cars in it.

Cell 2455, Death Row (1955) starring William Campbell in one of his best badass roles as a character based on Caryl Chessman; some great stunt driving including a chase scene with a burning '40 Ford police car, plus scenes of the younger version of the character racing around the Hollywood Hills in a stolen '38 LaSalle convertible sedan (after his girlfriend tells him "Drive crazy fast!").

The Trap (1959) starring Richard Widmark as a mob lawyer who turns good guy after his clients shoot his father trying to make a getaway; not many chases per se but a lot of '50s Mopars and a great scene at the end when the wounded Widmark attacks the fleeing mobsters' airplane with a '58 Plymouth police car.

I did the IMCDb pages for all three; check 'em out!
