m408 Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Just got my $300 check today and it's going to support our hobby. Gonna spend it all at Michaels using their discount coupons. Should keep me in good stuf for a long time.
Clay Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Mine was gone a few days after I got it. Now where it went, I have no clue!!! I guess it got me a few things but other than that,
Robert Myers Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 It went into the savings for my model museum fund.
bobss396 Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Mine ($1500) will be a down payment on my converting from oil to gas heat for my house. Fuel oil is about $3.60 a gallon and I blow through 800 gallons per year. The gas should be more stable and I'm reducing my carbon footprint. Whoever coined that phrase must be smokin' some fine stuff. Bob
RJWood Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 If all goes as planed I will use mine for a Pace Paintbooth. I just hope my job will be Ok. Things are getting a little scary. The layoff virus is spreading around here.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 There are several of us on the island that are pooling ours to help low income families to get heating fuel.
Fuel Coupe Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 There are several of us on the island that are pooling ours to help low income families to get heating fuel. thats awesome....
Guest Davkin Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Mine went mostly towards my debt elimination plan. It was nice to hit that "Send Payment" button and pay one of my credit cards off forever. David
Jello Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 I was going to use mine to support the hobby too but....at the rate bad things are going on now and those ridiculous gas prices..i'am having 2nd thoughts and decided to stash it in the piggy bank! We live in some scary times today and someone is always saying something about someone going out of business or ( insert name) stops production blab, blab...none of this helps at all and I keep seeing signs of not so good things to come.... To those helping others, Cheers! ~ Jeff
RodneyBad Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 DOn't know yet, Chase might be getting mine Ditto. it has helped my catch up with the hobby.

forthlin Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 About half of our $600.00 went into getting some much needed work done to our car. My wife got $125.00 to get what she wanted & my $125.00 all went to Tower Hobbies.
Jello Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 How will I spent it? Hell, I haven't even GOTTEN it yet! Maybe the IRS sended it to your old address at SA.... ~ Jeff
James W Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 way to go bro. its pretty bad when "The Greatest Country on Earth" has to give out economy stimulus checks so that the recipients can turn around and use them to help others less fotunate. Uncle sam ought to help them alittle more too. Speaking of unky sam, Im surprized they're not taking taxes out of the checks. Any way I strayed. You sir are a good man. Maybe if Uncle Sam hadn't taken the money in the first place so Uncle Sam could decide who needed it the most, we could give our excess to a whole different group of 'less fortunate' people. Mine is going straight into paying property taxes for the year. My way of 'sticking it to the man.' tax refund>pay tax>tax refund>pay tax You have to admit there is a certain symmetry to it.
Tuffy's Garage Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Using some of it to go on a trip to the inlaws. Also using some to get the Scamp back on the road and going to use a little to support the hobby
Joe Handley Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Just got a couple RC's unexpectedly and inexpensive, hopefully I can keep from spending it on those.
Seattle Mike Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 After more than a year of unemployment and moving from Michigan to Seattle, we decided that another cruise was in order. My wife and I will be flying to San Juan Puerto Rico a year from now, and getting on a ship for a week long cruise. New islands to see, more scuba diving to do, and a lot of relaxing. I'm hoping to get a chance to meet Ismael when I'm in San Juan, as we will be flying in a day early.
