Terry Jessee Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Hosted on Fotki Gregg e-'d me a couple weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in reviving "Resin Talk." Initially created by Mike Carroll, Resin Talk showcased all kinds of resin kits and parts. It's an area I've always enjoyed, so I'm excited to bring it back. Watch for lots of interesting stuff! The photo, by the way, is the Modelhaus '56 Mercury Montclair hardtop. This example features some aftermarket wheels and tires, and has been lowered. It looks different now. Watch for a review later this summer. Hope you enjoy it. Terry
george 53 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Yes Terry, I always enjoyed your truck column.Glad to see you back after your vacation. It'll be nice to see what's new in the resin world.Haven't had a good resin column since Uncle Bill retired(RIP Uncle Bill) Welcome Back!!!!
Guest zebm1 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 KEWL !!! Fantastik Plastiks.......... Question? Just because I'd nevah heard of tha man, what is your opinion of the late Rich Reichardt's castings?
Modelmartin Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) Good to have you back in the mags, Terry! Question? Just because I'd nevah heard of tha man, what is your opinion of the late Rich Reichardt's castings? I wasn't aware that Rick actually got anything cast! He showed up at NNLs and shows for years with the same half finished masters. He was talented but didn't finish much as far as I know. Andy Edited May 26, 2008 by Modelmartin
Phil Patterson Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Always glad to see your words in print! There's so much more resin out there now than even just a few short years ago, there should be plenty to talk about!
Guest zebm1 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Dean Milano has one of Rick's castings up for sale on evilbay....a 1957 Ford sedan short tail body.
RJWood Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 This is great news, and I look forward to reading it. As the Bluesman said, I too was a big fan of your "light commercial" column in the old SAE. With Terry Jessee and Larry Greenberg here, Its like being home again. Great work GREGG. Model Cars Magizine is the best.
Zoom Zoom Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Great news! Have you seen what Tapani Rauramo has been casting over in Finland? He's currently casting a Ford Anglia, Saab 96, and Volvo P1800 in 1/25 scale. I have the Saab, and a couple friends have the Volvos and Anglias. Wayne Webers just finished this Anglia for his brother-in-law, who owned the 1:1. I helped him w/paint/foil, finished it up Monday: Very cool/obscure stuff out there. Tapani is working on a Citroen DS master. Prices are high due to the dollar being relatively worthless vs. the Euro.
jbwelda Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 i would love to see a citreon DS and i wish that anglia came in a commercial panel van so i could recreate one of my first cars, that i stuck a cortina GT motor in. the saab 96 sounds like a winner too, also we need a sonnet type 1 including the mag wheels! great to hear a resin column is coming; its one thing we need more of: coverage of resin aftermarket. please dont be exclusively USA stuff though, as zoom zoom points out theres a lot more out there that many of us dont have a clue about.
Billy Kingsley Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 That's great news Terry! I'm still fairly new to resin (built three, a handfull more in progress and a lot in the stash) but it's always nice to have an expert opinion, AND a great new showcase for cool new products I may not otherwise hear about. Really looking forward to that!
Guest zebm1 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Soo, GreggK, yur avatar....iz that a hint? Are yu doing anime' these days?
Tapani Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Who carries Mr. Tapani's resin models? I do. If you want more info, please contact me. I have a yahoo.com e-mail by the name raurata. Terry, if you want to, please go ahead and put the pictures I mailed you on this board!

Nice! Cortina motors are awsome! and yes, not exclusively the US.
Gregg Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Tapani's work is very nice indeed. I have the Volvo also, which is going to be a fun build. And, he's a super nice guy too boot!
