gtx6970 Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 (edited) Keeping with my theme right now with all T bolts. Makes it easy to do as they're all basically the same car with different exterior colors and decals . Duplicolor white lacquer, Top End Decals ( aka Jack Smith ) for the decals. Interior is again, a mix of Tamiya and Duplicolor paints . Im currently trying to find a circular Quaker State decal for the rear sail panel before I clear it . EDIT found one I can live with . Comments or suggestions more than welcome. Edited March 13, 2017 by gtx6970
R. Thorne Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Your builds are awesome. Brings back memories of watching the 1-1 cars. Don't forget the 427 badges on the front fenders. Ron.
bamadon Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Talk about memories. In the early 60's to early 70's I used to spend just about every weekend at E.S.T.A. (Empire State Timing Association). I know I saw that car run there. Thanks.

Thanks, This particular car , the 427 flag was in the bottom / dogleg of the Ft fender. I have some small decals to place them as close to the original car as I can. The kit has them all in them molded in front edge of the fender just above the front bumper edge,,,,,But only about half the 1/1 cars has it there . Got a little bit done today on both this one and the Phil Bonner car. All the BMF work is done, glass is in. Interior tub is in. Sitting on its own 4 wheels . This one should be done in the day or 2 Need to decide which wheels on the Al Means/Bonner car , medium gold ( pass side ) or Testors champagne Gold ( drivers side ) ? Versus the restored car Edited December 9, 2017 by gtx6970
gtx6970 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 Thanks all. Both of these as well as 2 others were finished some time ago This kit is easily one of my absolute favorite kits to build
Mooneyzs Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Bill... Great looking Thunderbolts. Nice Job on them!
