fairlane1320 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Is it just me, or does this tanker body seem a bit small?
TarheelRick Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 May be just a visual thing, but it does look to be too shallow. The length seems proportionally alright, but I think the tank itself needs to be a bit taller.
fairlane1320 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 I feel like it needs to be taller and longer, something like this......
espo Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 You could follow Ron's suggestion and add to the lower body of the bed or use a conventional cab truck/chassis.
plastic trucker Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 You could slice the tanker body length wise and add a piece of plastic in between to make it taller.
landman Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Just build up the bottom part to bring the tank higher. My tank was about that size but the box is higher like the two above.
DumpyDan Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 That's cool Pat what are you going to use for a cab?
landman Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 That's cool Pat what are you going to use for a cab?Dan, look up TAT R190 tanker in the truck bench section.
Chariots of Fire Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Look at where the top of the body sides are with respect to the doors of the cab. That will give you some idea of the perspective. Also in the top photo you really only see the top half of the tank. The body sides come up to the widest part of the tank. I see you used the Monogram Mack body sides. They are probably a bit small to start with. If you have an AMT ALF kit you could make up the body sides using this one.
