Modlbldr Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 (edited) So, here is the build I started years ago and just picked back up. It is a Jairus Watson rendering. http:// When I left the project years ago I had mocked up everything for fit. Once I started back up I realized that the front sat too high. I relocated the kingpins for the front wheels up about 1/8 inch. Now it sits more like the drawing. http:// I glued the very front hood piece into place. http:// Today I primed the parts and did a wash of the panel lines and the grille and taillight panel for a bit of contrast. http:// http:// I'll clean the mess up and hit it with a light coat of primer in a few spots before paint. I picked up some acrylic craft paint that closely matches the rendering. I am building the parts pack 427 for this. Should be a pretty straightforward build. KWT Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 looks good...Life has gotten a little hectic lately. Hoping things will slow down a little so I can get back on this... or any build for that matter.
Modlbldr Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks guys. This is a project I have wanted to do for a long time. Now it has finally come time. Hopefully I can stay focused on it till the end.Later-
Jantrix Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 Wow! Last post is July 31!! You guys must have slipped back into a slump! Get with it!! I'm going to jump in on this one. I have managed to get out of a slump recently and re-started a project that I have been dying to do for a long time. I figured I may as well post it up here. Pictures to follow as soon as I get them loaded.Later-Very happy to have you. For me at least, model life has derailed at the crossing of Moving Street and Home Improvement Blvd. I likely won't even get to set up the new hobby room until at least the new year. I WILL be back.
Modlbldr Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Congratulations on the new move. I understand being busy with home remodeling. Lately the only time I have to work on models is during my breaks and lunch at work. Fortunately I am the only one in my shop during the day so I can leave most of my stuff out and have lots of storage. I had planned to get some paint on the chassis today but I had some work issues this morning (welcome to Monday morning) so I doubt I'll get anything done today.I look forward to you coming back.Later-
Modlbldr Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I shot some acrylic paint on the chassis and suspension a bit ago. It is a custom mix of Spring Green and Soft Grey. http:// http:// It was a bit too bright of green so I mixed in a bit more Grey and re-shot. http:// http:// Much better now. The lighting is poor. When it dries I will move it to some better lighting. Later-
Modlbldr Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Thanks David. Just got another coat of primer on the body. Been focusing on the 41 Woody so this has become my fill in build.Later-
