This is the finished project noted in the On the Workbench section.

I am not creative enough to come up with a special paint job, so I left it white and modified the kit decals to remove the Papa Truck designation.  I supplemented these decals with a side decal from the USA-1 '63 Corvette.  Never throw anything away.

OBTW, do any of you regulars know more about the Aerodyne with the extended frame?  Was this a custom, or was it a separate Kenworth model?

Nice looking K100.  Well done.

The standard wheelbase on the K100 Aerodyne was 180", while the Papa truck's is 226".  That being said, Kenworth would make trucks with whatever wheelbase the customer wanted.

I'd say you've done a masterful job on this bad boy.....I've always liked this model.....Excellent work....Maybe I'll have some inspiration to get onto mine, already in progress.....Been so busy, lately.....Haven't had much time....I like your version, though.....Excellent work....

You did a nice job. To answer your question, longer truck frames tend to be found on straight trucks like this race hauler. However, plenty of tractors had long frames as well depending on what the truck normally hauled. For example, a tractor with this long of a wheelbase could be used to pull a flatbed. Longer loads would be hauled that way.
