Trimmed the 1/24 scale Monogram hood to fit the Revell 1/25 scale kit.  Won't satisfy the Mopar die-hard but it works for me.

Very nice! I gave up on the first-issue Revellogram '70 AAR and grafted its grille into a Monogram '71 body to make a righteous '70. That's as far as I've gotten. Haven't decided if I want to finish it as a Hemi or an AAR.

Why not a Hemi AAR . I built a 1/1 scale version for a client a couple years ago . AND it has A/C

Decided to see what I could do with the engine.  Modified the AAR parts to fit the Revell 426 block.

I don't know anyone at Revell, but I would bet on seeing an AAR based on the new kit at some point.  If so, procrastination would pay off...

About the time you're finished this one :lol:

That's the way it always works! It's one of the reasons I'm reluctant to do certain conversions (ahem.........cough, cough, '57 Nomad.....ahem).

As soon as I get halfway through it, just as sure as I'm sitting here, Revell will announce a kit!

That happened to me too Bill...more than once. Started on my 1/24 Ford GTLM car only to have Profil 24 produce one. I will finish mine, someday, but it wont be this year now. Way too many projects on the go.

Revell did it to me too, with their C7R. Started a conversion with a 1/24 RC car and then they announced theirs. Again, I'll likely finish that one too, but I'll only do the body and use a C7R as a donor for the chassis/motor.

Nice work so far JC, as always. I assume the Monogram AAR isnt as accurate as the new Revell Cuda? How bad is it. I've got one of each, but I havent compared them to each other as of yet.

JC's car will be certainly ABOVE board than the abomination that Revell put out................twice! The first one they did was simply AWFUL! It looked like a caricature of the actual car------almost like they did the car from memory! The second one was only a trifle better, but still was woefully inaccurate.

I don't intend to hijack this thread with these pics, but just to illustrate what JC's going to do to his car will come out 1000% better than the attempt that Revell made with their second try at this car 10 years ago.

Some say the current one is not all that hot..........I disagree seeing what was foisted upon us before. Maybe the wheel flares are a little too pronounced............maybe. But the shape is 100% better than what I just posted here. ;)

The main problem with this body is the roof's too short. I started working on fixing one by moving the rear of the roof back about 1/4 or 3/8 of an inch and it improved the looks 100%. I ought to finish that thing. I think it might even come out looking better than the "new" one.

Thanks for your confidence in me Bill.  My intention is to build the Trans Am race car, which ran a single 4-barrel as required.  While I was tinkering I thought I would see what I could do with the stock parts.

I read recently that Chrysler had hoped to run the six-pack but the SCCA clamped down on multi-carb intakes after the '69 season.
