Hey folks. The title is not a mistake. Lol I started with a 1993 Cobra kit and a Monogram 1992 GT convertible kit. I'm not sure why a GT hatch was never kitted, and I don't count the horrible AMT version, but I wanted to build one to match my 1:1. So I started cutting and scavenging parts from the LX coupe kit as well. A set of Casey's torque thrust wheels painted are convincing as Bullitt wheels. I also used a GT wing from the AMT 88 Mustang GT kit and widened it. Color will be PPG Reef Blue Poly and titanium, just like the 1:1. Here's where I'm at so far. All comments are welcome!

First the 1:1

Always great to build a replica of your own car or one you used to have. Great looking Mustang by the way. With just a few minor body fitment issues it looks like you just about have it ready to go together. The nice thing is you have the prototype right there in the driveway if you need any additional detail information.

Awesome project! As a Fox-body owner for over 20 years I'll be following along for sure. It's also nice to see another proud two-tone GT owner. They're not easy to come by, especially in Reef Blue. Is your car original paint?

Here's a couple shots of the '87 GT I've owned for over 4 years, another color combo that's very hard to come by. It's all original paint, trim and even the headlights. I found it completely stock and did the suspension, brakes and original Cobra R wheels.

Man o man! That's gorgeous, Dennis! I had cobra Rs on my fox for 10 years before I did the 5 lug swap. I just got the car back in February of this year from paint. An original all black interior car as well. That white and titanium is beautiful. Very nice car.

Love them Fox-bodies.  Didn't someone do a resin Fox body Fairmont? I always thought they would hot rod up nicely.

Great project. I really need to build a model of my '93 Cobra, another back burner build.

You cant go wrong with a teal 93 Cobra. I would trade my GT in a heartbeat for one. Beautiful car.

My '91 GT looked very similar

I think I remember the thread on this build. Turned out great! I hope mine looks this good when I'm finished.

I got the interior pretty much finished up today. The 1:1 has all black interior, but it's kinda hard to reallyshow any real detail in my opinion. But I did flock the floor and the hatch area. I sprayed the centers of the front and rear seats with Testors fabric gray and then with flat black to represent the cloth inserts. A Revell LX coupe kit gave up its shifter and armrest, and the shifter ball is from the 2013 Boss 302 kit, then dull coated. I have a 2004 Mach 1 shifter ball in the 1:1.
