Scale-Master Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 Thank you David; I'm trying... Been working on the Weber carbs. Adding the linkages and more hardware. Even made the tiny screws to sync the carbs.
Scale-Master Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Throttle cable guide with mounting bracket. Aluminum and stainless steel.
Anglia105E Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Nice work on those Weber carburettors Mark, and super detailing on the throttle cable guide too! David
Scale-Master Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 Thanks David, it's about the details at this stage... Got the cable and linkage installed. Still need to wind the return spring.
Anglia105E Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 It's not a particularly large engine bay, but you have packed it all in there. I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between this photo of your scale model engine bay and a photo of the real 1:1 engine bay from the same angle. David
Scale-Master Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 Yes, it is getting tight, and it slows the progress a bit. I made and installed the throttle return springs; should be two because one is not safe. Made and added the lettering to the plug wires too. Also finished plumbing the rear brake lines.

Scale-Master Posted February 25, 2019 Author Posted February 25, 2019 (edited) I drew the art and printed decals. The tops of the carbs have been installed and the fuel fittings were machined/fabricated and attached to them. A section of the fuel line is on too. It's starting to get tight between the carbs. But there is enough clearance for the linkages to work without rubbing the wires. Edited February 25, 2019 by Scale-Master
Anglia105E Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Very tight Mark..... but you are on top of your game. I want to print the registration number plates ( license plates ) for a 1:43 scale model car, but I don't think my printer will be able to do it. David
peteski Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Thanks for the info Mark. My next question is: what exactly did you use for the ignition wires? The color and surface finish looks very realistic (like silicone-insulated wires). But you couldn't really apply waterslide decals to that type of material and have them stick. Also, did you seal those decals with some clear lacquer, or just applied and left it as it was? Edited February 26, 2019 by peteski
LaughingIndian Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Amazing build ... your throttle-linkage work alone is humbling
Scale-Master Posted February 26, 2019 Author Posted February 26, 2019 Thanks guys! Peter: The wires are a vinyl material. I'm not sure of the exact source because when I see something that could work for scale wiring of all sizes I grab it and stash it until the project comes along that could use it. It was prepped with lacquer thinner to give it a matte finish. It has enough tooth to accept decals, but I will seal them with clear lacquer once I'm done with the other hoses and lines as they are very fragile at this stage and will not stay attached for too long being applied the raw material.
Scale-Master Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 Fuel pressure regulator. Because it's mandatory for Webers… Machined aluminum.
Belugawrx Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 There's that GIANT METAL RULER again,.... All in the details man
Scale-Master Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 Thanks Bruce. Added the decals and installed the regulator into the fuel line.
Scale-Master Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 Not cast; individually machined from resin. Air filters…
Scale-Master Posted March 2, 2019 Author Posted March 2, 2019 Thanks David. Made the flanges and the mounting hardware for the air cleaners.
Scale-Master Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 Added the stitching to the steering wheel and mounted it to the crush sleeve.
Scale-Master Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 Finished the air filter set. Foam filters on hard plastic bases that use hose clamps to fasten to the the intake horns.
John Teresi Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Mark.......truly AWESOME talent you have Sir.......looks Great!!!!!
Anglia105E Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Stitching to the steering wheel...... I think I need to go and lie down for awhile and consider this..... David
