Built for my neighbour as a thanks for various bits and pieces he does.

He has 2 Capri lasers and had been pondering painting one kawasaki green so when I saw this kit on a swap deal I couldn't resist.

Typically AMT it was a horrible build, poor fit and lots of fettling and a few times I got frustrated with it, not my best build, could have done with cleaning up a bit but it's not bad, the scales all over the place, (look at the size of the wheels in the arches) but it looks like a Capri  and my neighbour likes it and is now more motivated to get one of his painted.

Final part of build video here showing the completed model and details, the other videos showing the sprues etc are on there too.

Nice build on the Capri.  I've always had a thing for them, back when I was young I lived in Germany and our neighbor had a first generation car.  Your model has the awful USA 5 Mile Per Hour bumpers, which everyone hated on just about every car!

Here's an old built up I bought many years ago:

Thanks, I feel like I could have done a better job with it though. But yes, those bumpers are horrible, the front especially looks like it's had the wraparound portions chpped off.

Did you mean to link a Capri pic in yours?

Nice build Mike and I like the color.  I  have one of these kits in my collection that I hope to build some day.

Got the same kit JC, the chrome custom bumpers would look better, the Ghia alloy wheels fit the nice tyres on the Opel GT repop.  BDA for the engine?

Your friend should enjoy your build, it looks great. The grill area doesn't look quite right to me, but I'm no expert on these cars. I do like the oversized Mini Light type wheels. I got to drive a 1:1 for a short distance, it had the 2.8 liter and a manual, a very impressive car.

Thanks guys.

Makes me feel better about a build I wasn't the most pleased with.

AFX, that's exactly the same body as mine, I shaved and sanded the side repeater / reflector moulding off as that's not s typical UK thing.

The bumpers on your box art look way better though, shame I got the plastic bumpers.

When you get around to building it do several dry fits of the cabin tub, chassis and body shell, I had to use a razor saw to cut a 4-5 mm portion off the front to get it to fit.
