Sometimes a snap kit can offer more detail or crisper lines that a full detail kit can offer.  Looking good so far on a subject not seen too often.

Okay,i have a couple small updates, the bottom of the engine is molded to the chassis so some careful detailing was required, the chassis was painted grey then a couple light coats of white primer.I painted the gas tank steel and the spare tire holder semi-gloss black, but I may add a coat of dull coat as it looks a little to shiny. The bottom of the engine block was painted semi-gloss black and the block flat aluminum. The suspension was painted cast aluminum.IMG_2344.thumb.JPG.462c4e41c2ef9d726e3ec

Forgot to add a pic of the interior, decided now to go with a flat red/ bright red interior masked off the upper interior so I can paint the lower interior flat red first.Since the instrument panel and vents and console are black and the interior is molded in black,20170820_163906.thumb.jpg.7e8013288d9a10i just masked off those areas with BMF so I won't have to remask and paint later:)

Not to picky, but the engine block on these cars as all 2.2 and 2.5s  is black with an aluminum head. The timing belt cover is black plastic as well. Just an fyi

Good to know, the instructions just call for the block and fan belt assembly to be painted silver fox and I couldn't find any good pics on the net so I sorta winged it.i have a few more daytonas in my stash,so next one I build will be more correct.

Looking good Curtis.

Did you deepen the door lines? they look about perfect.

Yes i did and then i applied a wash using Vallejo black model wash,it's really good stuff.

Good work so far.  :)  This looks like a really nice kit.

Thank you,it's a pretty simple snap kit,but everything fits good with very little sanding, would love to see it reissued again.

Hello,..okay i'm back with a few updates the engine compartment is done the kit has no engine decals so I added a few from my scrap box I think it looks better. The interior has no decal either ,so i again grabbed from the scrap box. 20170824_165416.thumb.jpg.0d0cc29b5811f0

The turbo is done as well, since it's mold in one piece i sprayed the entire piece with dullcoat the hose was painted with matt black and part of the turbo was painted flat aluminum for contrast. 20170829_153812.thumb.jpg.055c25e623396f
