magicmustang Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 (edited) I don't know why but I just keep adding to my collection of 1969 Funny cars. Maybe it's the choice of chassis, or availability of decals. Anyway here they are, no super detailing but a lot of time on decals. The Mickey Thompson Mustang isn't finished yet. vintagedragcrazy Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Very nice Gerald they all look good!!!!vince
High octane Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Very nice collection you have there. I myself wouldn't mind building a few of those if I had the time, and I would build mine as "injected funnies" as I remember them well at my local drag strip back-in-the-day.
Metaldrumm Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Man i really love your collection, especially that jungle jim nova, great work.
Nytrozilla Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 How did you know that every single car in that picture is my favorite flopper?
Snake45 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 '69 was one of the greatest funny years ever. Maybe THE greatest. These are great. I especially like the Jungle Jim Nova. Can you tell us more about it? I've wanted to do that car for oh about four decades now.

Hey Snake, thanks for the comments, I do appreciate them. The Jungle Jim Nova is an AMT "Old Pro" body on a Polar lights chassis. Engine was from the parts box. The chassis had to be shorted a bit to fit the "stock" Nova body. Had to do some mods to get the tin work in. Decals are from Slixx. Here's a website that shows pics for the restored version that I used for reference,. http://www.hotrodhotline.com/jungle-jim-liberman-1969-nova-funny-car Hope this helps. Thanks for the details. Somewhere I've got the old issue of SS&DI with JJ as the full-color centerfold--with this car disassembled down to the last nut and bolt and laid out in a studio. No "what color was _____" questions with THAT photo on the workbench!
Hmann68 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Nice collection! I'm partial to the Charlie Allen Dart, but they look great together!
magicmustang Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 (edited) Was asked for a pic of all the chassis available for a 1969 FC build. Back row: original JoHan, new Polar Lights, new Revell middle row: old MPC, Charlie Allen/ Ramchargers style MPC front : later JoHan Edited December 27, 2017 by magicmustang
