bolt pattern question

Recommended Posts

8 lug?  could it be 6-1/2"?

it appears everything popular 8 lug is 6-1/2" bolt circle - Ford, GM, Dodge

they r 8 lug...but definitely 6 1/4 or 158.75 mm.  the hubs have adaptor plates with 6 1/2" wheels mounted. and no the 6 1/2 wheels will not fit if I take the adaptors off

You have got my curiosity peaked. I've messed with a lot of eight lug stuff over the years and the only variation that I was aware of was Ford's switch in 99 from 6.5" to 170mm. I'm assuming that this is an old Dana 60 with drum brakes? I'll do some checking to see what I can find.

yes, dana 60 with drum brakes...ive searched the net for hours, even calling a few companies that made adaptor plates, searched military(foreign n domestic) databases to no avail.

Do you know for a fact that it was from a truck? Might be from an industrial application. That's an oddball pattern for an 8-bolt truck axle for sure.

I don't know what its original application was, but its the rearend currently on my 40 chevy pick up rat rod...it has a military trailer for a bed so I was sure it was old military
