MarkJ Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Finally finished this one. Junior drove this car right after he got out of prison for moonshining. He drove it in 1958 and most of 1959. He won 6 races in 1958 and 5 races in 1959. I built it to look the way it did for the 1958 Southern 500 because those were the only good reference pictures I had of it. Revell kit, Model Master acryl paint, and my own ink jet decals. It took 76 hours to complete. 12.5 of those hours were to create and print the decals.
MarkJ Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 Here are the ref pictures I used. All were from the 58 Southern 500.

DoctorLarry Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Stunning work. How did you create the decals?

Larry, I created them using some reference pictures I found. I then used the adobe photodeluxe program I have on my old computer to make them into sheets. I then printed them on white ink jet paper except for the decals that went on the roof. They were printed on clear sheets. Thanks for your interest in the build.
MarkJ Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Thanks, Jonathan and Carl. I really appreciate the feedback.
