Snake45 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) Here's the Revell Concept Camaro Snake-slapped together as a "quick" slump-buster. I rescribed (and black-washed) all panel lines and polished the molded silver plastic. Wheels were given a shot of Krylon clear satin, and I masked off and painted the black window surrounds. Some detail painting, and the kit sticker "decals" were used. It's actually shinier than it looks in the pictures. Very easy shape to polish--I was able to do the whole think with Walmart Trim nail polishing sticks; didn't have to resort to my beloved Wright's Silver Cream. Total build time maybe ten or 12 hours. Comments welcome. Edited December 26, 2017 by Snake45
espo Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Very nice looking quickie. I like the tire tread detail that so many over look.
Hmann68 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 It polished out nicely! Looks like it was painted
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Sharp. Does look like it was painted.

bbowser Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 You are the master of polished plastic. Nicely done.

It's really not difficult, and unlike paint, there's never any danger of "burning through." The hardest part is finding good plastic to polish. First, it has to be in a color you like/want, and then it has to be opaque enough that it won't have that translucent/plastic-y look when done. This one is marginal in the latter aspect, and it has some of the infamous metallic swirls, but I went with it anyway. But I don't think I have any other polished silver plastic in my collection.
