Peavus Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 This was a project around 15 years ago. I started with a 72 GMC short step side. I cut the front clip off to replace with a Chevy front end. The resin bed was from All American Resin( now defunct). The Chevy grill was opened and the body sprayed with black lacquer and candy flames over a cream base coat. The two Harley pan head motors in the bed are Revell parts pack motors and one has the top end removed showing pistons and rods. The cardboard boxes are photo reduced actual Harley oil cases from the early nineties.
Modlbldr Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Looks good, but needs some closer photos (and more of them). Great work. Later-

Peavus Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 The 1/25 Revell Harley motorcycle parts pack. For those that don’t know, Revell came out with these motorcycle parts packs and included a Harley show bike, a triumph show bike, a bsa, and a Honda around 1963. A friend cast the motors in my truck with resin. I opened the top end of one motor to add the rods and pistons. I do have the whole motorcycle and a couple more parts packs but they are too rare to build. Revell re-released these once when the movie “Grease” was out but they didn’t come chrome like the original first issue. I am still unable to upload more pics but I keep trying.
Peavus Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Sorry but I still can’t upload anymore pics. But some more memory came back on those pan head motors. I still have 3 or 4 of those resin motors that I have not used. I recently saw the original issue all chrome Revell Harley show bike. The front forks were detached from the frame but it looked good. The buy it now price was $15 and someone got it before I finished paying. The last mint original parts pack Harley kit sold for over $200. They are so rare that no one ever sells theirs. I once heard Revell had some request to re issue those kits but they didn’t think they could sell enough. I would post pics of those kits if interested but I still can’t upload anything. Starting to lose interest anyway.
