Flatout Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) My 1st completion for this year, definitely a little different from what I normally build. It's a Japanese spec Toyota Celsior, pretty sure it equates to a Lexus 450 in the states. While it is a curbside kit the finished model looks pretty good on the shelf. Most of undercarriage was brush painted with Tamiya Acrylics, used Testers fabric gray spray can for the interior, and on the body I used Tamiya white primer for the base color followed by a couple of coats of silver Pearl mixed in Duplicolor lacquer clear then a couple of coats of clear lacquer with no Pearl. I really enjoyed building this and will have to try a few more Japanese kits. Thanks for lookin' and Aloha...Pete Edited February 11, 2018 by Flatout
Cool Hand Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Excellent paint job Pete. Good job on the undercarriage detail. Im starting to enjoy seeing people build the somewhat oddball Aoshima kits. And its always good too see something different.
Daddyfink Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Nice and clean! I like it! Looks like I need to try that Paint Shop Clear
89AKurt Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Nice job! I love the pearl white, maybe because my full scale Honda Civic is. I never heard of that paint brand. I have the Tamiya kit of this, looks comparable but has the engine.
Flatout Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 Thanks Jesse, Carl, and Kurt! Kurt...I get the Duplicolor Clear at Auto Zone (1 qt/$30) and the pearl powder is from TCP global.com.
Top.Secret Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) I don't find the car itself interesting, but you've put it all together so well I took a good long look at the photos. The paint came out nice, and the panel lines look perfect. Very clean. Edited February 12, 2018 by Top.Secret
