This started as a resin I got on the bay. Rough would be the understatement of the year. Ended up throwing out both bumpers and the frt valance. Built my own from scratch. Far from perfect still. Every few months I mess with it. Then it frustrates me and aside it goes for a while more.It is at least painted and on wheels I like now. This is a model of my real GT

I saw that resin on ebay, and it kinda scared me. You did a pretty darn good job on it from what I see. Being the owner of a 72 Montego GT (dark green to boot) I'd love to see a kit of it done.

I too have that resin and my family once had a 73 Montego, albeit a 4 door sedan. The bumpers are the worrisome part for me too. What did you use for a chassis. And I agree, we need to see a few more photos of this excellent model.  I would also like to know how you approached the bumper problem.

There used to be a Montego NASCAR kit a few years ago. That might be a better starting point in the future. I like how your build turned out and would also like to see more pictures of it.

It has a chassis from a Motor City Resin Torino. That I put the body on a NASCAR chassis.

Here is a couple more pictures  . It’s going to get a 351 Cleveland NASCAR engine. I need to make a firewall frt wheel wells and other stuff yet. I still don’t really like the bumpers but I got sick of arguing with it.

Thanks Ron  that was a ton of work and parts are unobtainium.

That car takes me back. A friend of my Dad had a '72 Montego MX 2-door hardtop in Dark IVY Green, with a white top. A lot of our family members had Ford products in that era in that color. I really like the green on yours.

That’s what color this one was. It was too boring for me so I made my own color.

The 1972 Montego GT was by far one of the coolest cars on offer that year.  Yours is a great looking example, and that model is also a very impressive effort!  TIM

I wish the model was done a little better.

I do not blame you for the color change. I lusted after my uncle's 72 Ranchero 500, which was also Ivy Green. I was pretty angry with him when he traded it for a Ranger PU.

My dad did that to me with a 67 Skylark. I loved that car.
