ewetwo Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 All I can find where I live is Pledge Revive which is an cleaner which contains oil. I bought Holloway House Quick Shine. It has a leveling agent in it. Will this work? And can you make that Future Glue out of it? Thank you. ?
SfanGoch Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 (edited) You can get it at CVS or Home Depot. It is now called Pledge Premium Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish. Edited March 29, 2018 by SfanGoch
Mike999 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 (edited) Also available at Wal-Mart under that name, or at least it was some months ago when I bought it there. Appears to be exactly the same as the previous product. I've used my most recent bottle for all the usual jobs: adding a gloss top-coat; making "glass" in dashboard gauges; dipping clear parts and aircraft canopies to remove scratches and make them look better. And on larger-scale figures, adding a drop in the eyes to make them shiny. No problems at all. Edited March 29, 2018 by Mike999 omission
935k3 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 If you have a local Tru Value hardware store you can have it shipped to store for pickup. There is no charge for shipping that way.
Jon Haigwood Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Just tried some for a gauge face on a dash, Applied some chrome from a Molotow pen , applied some Model master tint, then filled with a drop of future. Looks OK to me.
Jim N Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 For what its worth, it is not available in my local market. I bought a bottle a few months ago and had to use Amazon.
ewetwo Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 OK. I'll take the Holloway House back and keep looking. Thank you all the input.
ewetwo Posted April 3, 2018 Author Posted April 3, 2018 I called SC Johnson and this is the new Future. Pledge Revive It Floor Gloss. So I went out to find it and after 7 stores .I found it at the 2nd Walmart I went to. 4 hours looking for this. They said it's the same ingredients as the original Future. Just a new name and packaging. So here is the pic. :-)
SfanGoch Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 "They" know that modelers use the stuff. So, what do "they" do? Throw us a curve by changing the dammed name every couple of months so we can't find the stuff. Next thing you know, it'll be relabeled as a pancake/waffle syrup substitute.
High octane Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I've used this stuff with great results, however I don't really know if it is still on the shelves anymore or called something else.
peteski Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 (edited) I believe that the "revive it" stuff is another iteration of the original Future Floor Finish (which in its previous iteration was called Pledge FloorCare Mult-surface finish) There used to be a great website called "the complete Future" maintained by a modeler called Swanny, He used to keep up with all the name changes, but he shut it down couple of years ago. Um, wait . . . I just checked and it is back! http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html But if the "revive it" stuff is really Future, he has not updated the website with that info. Not sure if he is even updating it anymore. Edited April 4, 2018 by peteski
