Fujimi Nissan Skyline R34 25GT Turbo 1:24

I've got several on the go, but wanted to start one of my skyline kits, I've got several in the stash & it's one of my favourite motors.

this is not a GTR, but it was cheap on eBay, something like a tenner including postage.

It's not a great kit & some of the mouldings are of poor quality, i'm not intending on putting a lot of extra details in, but want it to look good in the cabinet - so the focus will be on the exterior.

Photos are Box art, Chassis completed & misalignment of the exhaust box with the body shell shown!

Body is sprayed in Tamiya Aerosol and Zero 1K 1 light coat & 2 heavy coats

I've test fitted the wheels with the body in place and the wheels stick out too mush, I had to cut down the inside of the hubs and shorten the rubber shoes that fit over the spindle that the wheels attach to.

I've now sanded and polished out this shell.

probably my most successful polish ever. I only burned through in a couple of areas, and it's minor enough not to try to repair.

As painted: 5af0852a86cd0_1-Aspainted.thumb.jpg.5d9bd9fea3bbd4211038d3bfe919997d.jpg

process was:

Tamiya 2000 grit

Micromesh 3600 grit:

Nuvous Heavy Scratch remover:

And then Nuvous Fine Scratch remover:

I will detail it, then apply the final clean and wax...

Started in the interior, the seats have mega sink marks, and no seat backs

the interior sides have no detail at all, and no door cards, so I set about making some.

It's probably going to be a black or grey interior with very little detail

I'd say that's pretty decent detail!!....Well done!!

Thanks Dann!

progress! Finally, making some advances on this build, it's starting to come together

I used the pencil & Tamiya masking technique for the black edging of the windows - never done it before, and it isn't a great result, but probably the best I've had on a build

the Dash is basic, but you will not see much of it in the build, decals in (the recessed holes were a struggle) but I'm calling it done!

the rubber strip seals  / edges  have been completed, it was a combination of hand painting Tamiya X-18 (front & back), and masking and air-brushing them (sides).20180603_151017.jpg.c4b9c6f47d00f8f481f0faa6a4c5e07c.jpg

The front end is done, I guess the grille it would have looked better in black, but I'm not chainging it now, but the mash was included in the kit & kooks like a great scale fit.20180604_205750.jpg.d944e7dee0bb5b16313a878af86f4fe1.jpg

The ftont headlamps were detailed using hand painted X-18, and a molotow chrome pen, the red & amber were done with Sharpies - which unfortunately ended up with thumb prints in them when I took them off the sprue and filed down the excess....20180604_205807.jpg.416c61165d1b53fe47e2f456eded9447.jpg

Glad your back at this one, Atin!....its looking BRILLIANT!!!!...its soooooo klose!!!

Thank's Pat & Dann! I've just got flocking to do now...!

Interior is coming along nicely, but slowly. The scratchbuilt door cards needed several rounds of filling and sanding, as did the front seats. The tub needed lots of masking too, so it's taken a lot of time. I've got as far as a test of flocking, and now today I'll be flocking the rest of it - if I get given the time from the boss.

The door cards could be a lot better, but it would take forever to get them right... and flocking is another one of my nemesis, it never turns out right for me...

OH MY GOD WHAT A TEASE!

I was so excited to see your beautiful interior panels in place only to scroll down and find you still have more to go!

It is like a cliff hanger TV show.  Now I'm hooked and can't wait to see how it come out in the next episode!

Great work here, friend!  I honestly look forward to seeing more!

Really nice work, especially on the head lights and the door cards.

Shame that Fujimi never even pretended to do anything on the interior, but anything they made between the mid 90's to mid 2000's was like that.  I'd probably replace those sofas with some GT-R or aftermarket seat as well but the door cards are already an immense improvement.

Thanks Ken & Silvester! The support it great, it keeps me going!

It's been too hot to move here in the UK, so progress has been slow!

But progress has been made, 2 steps forward & 2 steps back!

The rear view mirror broke & had to be glued back together, then kind of painted so it didn't look like glue.

the front badge is complete, sealed with Zero 1K clear

Then I decided that i really can't put this together without some pedals. I had nothing in the spares box, so I made some following some research off t'internet.

They are ready to be sprayed silver now...

Unfortunately the Rear Spoiler broke off during a test fit... but i'm hoping it will glue back with minimal ugliness....
