Well done.  Looks like a real wooden boat....hey, it is a real wooden boat.

I'm happy to see your new direction.

Thanks Bill. There is a heck of a learning curve for these wooden kits. The Russian submarine I have just started looks like it may be that I bit off more than I can chew.

What?  A Nantucket Sleigh Ride?  It's what happens when you harpoon a whale & it tows you around the ocean!  It's called that because most of the whalers from New England were from Nantucket.

No, not a ship.  Two of the more famous whaling ships of the era are the Charles W. Morgan (currently at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut), and the Essex (sunk by a whale in 1820). The Essex was the inspiration for Moby-Dick.

Nice job on the whale boat.

You need to get that hatchet off the deck. its making me nervous, one little wind shift and ploop, right over the side. ;)

Looking great Ray!

I've always wanted to build a ship model of some sort. It seems that one like this would be a good starting point.

Thanks for sharing your work with us.
