I'm going to order myself some canvases and paints soon. I have this idea to incorporate the Grim Reaper and a clock into a painting..... I've sketched out a couple of test compositions, and want to hear what you guys might think. The picture will either be of Grim holding a clock, or him with the face of a clock.....

So, tell me which one would be more interesting as a painting.........

Thanks!

Why not both ? Holding the clock up and the staff at his side ? Just an idea.

and A good idea!  Now I'm thinking a burning candle somewhere.... Maybe him holding a candle in one hand, staff in the other, face of a clock.

I learned in Art class about critiques and brainstorming, that's just what this is....... and pieces would always come out better with input from others......

Thanks, Guys!

I like the first one better. And why not incorporate a real clock into it? Make the art a functioning timepiece.

You know what, Snake? I had actually thought of using a real clock, all it would take would be a small wooden "frame" in the back and a small hole for the stem to stick thru.... put some foam inside the small frame to hold the clock in place. You can get a clock kit for about $6.............
