Kit Basher
This is from the Monogram "B-52 with X-15" kit. I wanted to add it to my "Go Fast" display. All the kits in the group are 1/72 scale, which gives you an idea how big the XB-70 is. I will build the B-52 when I figure out where the heck I'm going to put it! Thanks for looking. High octane
Build the B-52 and hang it from the ceiling, problem solved.
Snake45
Nice! If you're going fast, you need an F-104 and an F-15 in there.

I have a 1/72 F-104 kit, but I think I am going to put that in the "Cold War" department. However, it was one of the chase planes for the XB-70, so maybe I'll have to do two of them, and follow your advice. An F-15 would be cool! They had one parked right next to the B1-B at the USAF museum.
LDO
Darryl Greenamayer's "Red Baron" civilian F-104 could be another option.

bbowser
I remember when the XB-70 came out, it was awe inspiring then. Your X-15 looks great, little more than a seat attached to a rocket! Those guys had stones.

Greg Myers
Nice job on the X-15 Hugh. Now you need some more "X" planes. There are a few out there. X-1, X-3, X-5 and lots of luck and lots of money maybe the X-13.
Jim N
Great looking collection of planes. That Valkyrie looks fast sitting still.
Kit Basher
Thanks Greg! I think it would be tough adding X-planes in 1/72 scale. I remember building the X-3 as a kid, it was about the right size, IIRC.

If you're ever headed east thru Dayton, stop off and see the real thing. It's spectacular.
unclescott58
The X-15 is very cool. Always has been. Always will be. Another way to earn your astronaut wings back in the 1960's. GLMFAA1
Nice collection, fan of fast planes, Museum is fantastic if you get the opportunity to visit, Always thought a commemorative salute would be the flight before the crash with all the planes in formation greg
Kit Basher
Thanks Scott! Thanks Greg! I agree the USAF Museum is awesome. I spent two days there, could have easily spent more.
