Don Noyes Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 A question that someone might know, I am repairing an old model of a 1/16 Packard. My question is does anyone know how the luggage rack attach to the car. I have a few pieces of the linkage but I can tell it isn't complete. I'm not sure of the manufacturer or when it was made. Could have come from Canada. I'm hoping someone has a picture or instructions to see how it goes together so I can make the pieces needed. Thank you Don Noyes
SfanGoch Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) It could be either a Bandai kit, released in 1975 or an Entex rebox also released in the '70s. I can't find the instructions online; however, you could check out the pics of finished model and see if the parts you have match those seen on this one. 1937 Packard Coupe Roadster Edited July 6, 2018 by SfanGoch
BigTallDad Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I don't know if this will help, but here's a pic with the rack in the stowed position And another showing the in-use position. I found these on Google.
ss2000 Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Here’s the only pics in the instructions. Now that I dug it out I might start it, they are very nice kits.
misterNNL Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Wonderful detail photos. Thanks for sharing.Isn't it great to have forums like these available to find the information we need!
Don Noyes Posted July 12, 2018 Author Posted July 12, 2018 Thank you. This is awesome and something I can work with to make it work.
landman Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Funny, I looked at both my 1/16 Packards and they don't have the luggage rack. I must not have installed them. Both are the Entex versions, convertible and formal sedan.
unclescott58 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Just bought an Entex Coupe Roadster on eBay. Looking forward to getting it. In my opinion, this was when Packard was at its peak. Both in styling and engineering.
