Modlbldr Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I'm building a Revell 66 Impala and want to do some changes to the tires and wheels. Looking to use the 5 spoke wheels from the Revell 32 3 window. I want to change the tires to represent a "day two" build of someone who would have wanted a bit more meat for a mean street look. I would prefer the tires be all the same size or maybe a small bit of rake. They should be, preferably, period correct. Looking for what kits may have a suitable set. Any ideas? I was thinking of the tires from the Revell 66 Penske Vette but not sure how period correct they would be?? Later-
smhardesty Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Try Fireball Modelworks. www.fireballmodels.info

I was thinking of the tires from the Revell 66 Penske Vette The tires in the Revell '66 Penske Racing/Rebel Racer/Stars and Stripes Vette kits are all the same, and identical to those found in the Revell '32 Ford 3-Window kit. I think the front tires might look too small on the '66 Impala, though. A large, full-size car like that would need a slightly taller tire to properly fill out the wheel wells IMHO.
Fat Brian Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I agree about Fireball, Joeseph has Indy Profiles that should work well for your plans.
mikemodeler Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 AMT just released a new set of 5 spokes and wide oval tires, saw them on the Modelroundup page, check them out. As others have said, Fireball has some nice, excellent detailed tires that would work too.
oldnslow Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Day 2 , I'd go with F60s on the front and L60s on the back , get a little rake that way .
Modlbldr Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 Thanks for the help guys. Great info. Later-
BigTallDad Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 How about the wheels/tires from a '70 Monte Carlo?
