James Tester Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 My main focus for this build was to build a clean model with just a couple of aftermarket parts to spice it up a little. The body is painted with MCW Gold Metallic with a Urethane clear coat. The decals are from The Last Detail. James
george 53 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 James, that looks GREAT! that urethane clear really makes it! Beautiful job! ya got all the details right.great build!
Harry P. Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I have this kit too, and I've always wondered... Under the hood, what the heck are those 2 weird hoselike shapes on the top of the right fenderwell supposed to be???
James Tester Posted August 3, 2008 Author Posted August 3, 2008 I was wondering the same thing... I suppose they could be battery cables?
Fisher61 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Very nice build all the way around! I like the decals, do they come in white also?
Harry P. Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I was wondering the same thing... I suppose they could be battery cables? I don't think so...they're not connected to anything! Anyone out there know what they're supposed to be? I have no idea. My real '67 in the garage doesn't have them...
Willy Survive Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Great clean build. Looks really nice, and I love that color. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Harry P. Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Come on, people! I thought we had some experts here!!! What's the deal with the two weird "things" on the fenderwell???
PITTSBURGH412 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 nice looking build. i have got to get one of these kits.
ubermodel Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) I don't think they're anything other than the manufacturer's goof. My '67 didn't have them either, nor did any of the AC and non-AC '67 full-sizers in my library. I guess they could represent the AC hoses, but the AMT '67 is a non-AC car. Here's a pic of the real thing: Edited August 4, 2008 by ubermodel
randx0 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 nice work james I especially like how the dash board turned out .
mikelo Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Great work James. I think you accomplished you goal. Very clean build. Nice color too (I don't see too many gold cars). Great job on the interior too. Very nice. When I first saw those things on the wheel well I thought they could have been AC lines myself, but then the kit doesn't have AC. Mike
Daniel Lynch Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) Very nice Chevrolet James! Me too i use the urethane clear and i like it, he dry hard and after polishing he give an real nice smooth shiny look! The question of the week, What is the mystery hose? Daniel Edited August 8, 2008 by Daniel Lynch
Daniel Peterson Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Very nice Chevrolet James! Me too i use the urethane clear and i like it, he dry hard and after polishing he give an real nice smooth shiny look! The question of the week, What is the mystery hose? Daniel I'm going to contend they would be air conditioning lines...whether the model represents an A/C car or not. That's the only accessory on that side of the engine that would have anything even remotely similar to what's laid on the inner fender. Check out this link...it's a slide show of a 67. This is all I'm basing my statement upon. Oh, and this was indeed a beautiful build-up of a beautiful car. Even if it doesn't have air...
george 53 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 (edited) :lol:Harry, Those are Regulonian sfinkter worms! They ONLY eat the complex molecular structure that makes up the Chinese imported steel that the 67 ONLY Chevy Impala front wheelhouses were made from. They won't hurt you as they only eat said metal......But then again,... maybe they're not. Edited August 12, 2008 by george 53
