David Thibodeau Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Its done guys. It replicates the 1964 Lemans GT Class winner using the Scale Motorsport Builders kit, MCW Viking blue and Vintage Racing Miniatures decals. This is an excellent kit in curbside and my next extended review in MC.
randx0 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 my favorite car of all time and you did a great job building it look forward to the review.
MrObsessive Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Ooooooh! I just looove this car!! One of my favorite '60's road racers! I've got Harold Bradfords full detailed kit of this, but haven't been brave enough to start on it yet. I just like looking at those beautiful parts he's made for it! Absolutely Awesome job Dave!!
mikelo Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Wow! An excellent build of an excellent car. Can't wait to see the review, but I'll look at these pics for now. Mike
3men2s Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) GREAT JOB, WE ALL KNOW YOU DON'T NEED ENCOREGMENT, BUT WE ARE ALWAYS DELIGHTED TO SEE YOUR WORK....THIS PARTICULAR BUILD I LOVE NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE POPULARITY OF THIS TIMELESS CLASSIC, AND EVERYONES FAVORITE, BUT I LOVE IT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A CURBSIDE...IT LOOKS SOLID "GREAT JOB" Edited August 5, 2008 by 3men2s

Zoom Zoom Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 That's one impressive model Dave! Nice work, very inspiring. The review will be helpful to those of us who have this kit
crispy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Absolutely stunning. David your work is bar none. Great build of a great iconic race car(that's not in styrene, go figure!). Chris
TimKustom Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Great build David! One of my favorite cars as well. My Dad was at that race. He shot a roll of 35mm slides while he was there. I scanned them, got them on disk somewhere. Reminds me, I need to get them on my fotki. He went in '63 & '64, while his parents were stationed in France. Said it was real crazy out there. I've got the souvenir programs from those races, too bad I can't read French! Looking forward to the review.
David Thibodeau Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 Thanks boys! Glad its liked, Look for a full review in the OCT issue of MCM..... Here are the few corrections I made and now you can call it done! The 1964 car only ran one wiper... I removed the Pass side wiper and capped off the hole with a PE bolt. And I remembered the rear number as well!! Here is one of my favorite shots...you can see a glimpse of the spare tire in the back.... Here is what you cant see in the back.... Thanks again!!! DaveT
