The rolling chassis is complete! had to mock it up to check the stance. It looks good!

It has had a few coats of Zero primer, and now a few coats of Tamiya white primer (From a can)

now it will get Zero White "gloss" that ends up flat...

target for Sunday morning... as by Sunday night all my modelling stuff needs to be packed for the house more next week....

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Dr Trevor for sending me relacement decals!

Following the house move, I've got around to airbrushing again.

So I've masked and sprayed teh Zero Camel Yellow, ready for a light sand & applitcation of Zero 2k Clear - to help with the decal application.

i'm now spraying in-doors, and there is a hell of a lot more dust around... so I'll have to accept a few blemishes...

I've been working on this a lot, and it's been:

sanded with 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 3200, 3600 and 4000 git paper / cloth

then polished with Novous heavy scratch remover twice, and fine scratches twice

then masked & interior coated white

then masked and black bits coated with Tamiya X-18

Don't know how I missed this one ..looking good Atin ?

I've had good results waiting for the decal solvent to get 1/2 way dry, and then ...gently... roll, tamp, a cotton bud (Q-tip) to squeeze out the excess at big wrinkles..

Keep it going ..Cheers

Keep at it. You're doing well saving a tough decal job.

Great save, Bud!!!!

Thanks Bruce & Dann, really appreciate it!

And Trevor - wouldn't have been possible without you! Ans really good call in packing more than one, I really needed it, these decals were really tough to use. Although the ones you sent are way better than the ones that I originally used. Having said that, they were still troublesom!

2nd side - I tried something different. I cut the decal into multiple part before attaching them:

SO normally, I use Microsol Decal Set frst, then Micosol Decal Softener after.

This time, I used just the softener - but underneath the decal

it made a huge difference, although the side effect of having the decal in multiple pieces, is that it was no longer straight.

only one bubble appeared around the "R"

I again tried to pock a hole and use setting solution to no avail, so cut it out and cut out an additional piece of ceal & added it over the "R"

SO DECALS NOW DONE - A HUGE THANK YOU TO DR TREVOR!!!!!!

Originally I intended on coating with Zero 2k, but decided to just give it a few "coats" of modelling wax - well, Nuvous "clean & shine" does the trick, makes the decals look less "on-top"

not perfect, but looks good enough for me, and worth the effort in the end
