CAL Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Does any company make a model of a 1968 Mustang fastback with Cobra Jet engine? Ya know. I am not sure. I know there is a 68 Shelby, it's probably got a CJ in it. I am not sure if AMT did a standard Fastback version of that kit or not. There is a 67 w/o an CJ. I would have to go looking through my Mustang kits.
84vanagon Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I think Revell is going to do their metal "Bullitt" mustang in plastic later on this year. AMT's excellent 67 fastback could easily be turned into a 68 with the addition of side marker lights and a 68 steering wheel. There are plenty of "FE" engines in 1/25 scale. The AMT (ex-MPC) 69 fastback has the Cobra-Jet valve covers and air cleaner/hood scoop.
RodBurNeR Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 sorry i am not a buff on Mustangs, just trying to help. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...mustang-427-gt/ Hosted on Fotki http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...ustang-gt-500-/ Hosted on Fotki
MrObsessive Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Don't forget-----if you convert the AMT '67 to a '68, you'll also need to change the rear fender vents as they aren't the same.
Zoom Zoom Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Not sure if it's got a Cobra Jet (kit engine looks tame; round air cleaner); this is the diecast '68 fastback that was done by Revell (following their Bullitt and '67 Shelby variants of the same basic kit) in the "American Dreams" series. This is the kit that is currently going through a transformation into a plastic kit by Revell (also the Bullitt). It's a pretty nice kit. I think the '68 and the Bullitt will be out late this year/early next year.
RodBurNeR Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks, are these kits for sale? no problem! sorry the examples shown are from my instructions web site. www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html i dont have any Mustang kits sorry.

Rob Hall Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 sorry i am not a buff on Mustangs, just trying to help. Nice to see the old box art..I have a couple of the AMTs, but none of the MPC ones. Looking forward to the new Revell kits.
Guest zebm1 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 There is a 1/18th 67 "Bullit" Mustang in Diecast, comes as a kit..... I have one.... There is this Model Supplier http://3000toys.com/catalog/item_detail.as...emfind=AMT38666 They have some 1967 Mustang Fastback models left.....the AMT SEMA kits 1/25th scale.....better hurry tho.....
Jeff Johnston Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 There are really no readily available 68's other than the oldies. The Revell will be out soon, and I assume it'll be a nice kit. The AMT 67 is a great kit if your looking for just the body style. I am looking foward to the Revell 69.
