carsntrucks4you Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) This time I was looking for car that it is based on a VW Käfer or Beetle. The Rometsch Lawrence was build in Berlin from 1957 - 1961 and it was designed by Bert Lawrence, a furniture designer! Beside the coupe there was also a convertible. Ace-Garageguy Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Good one. At this point, I have absolutely no clue. Several things it kinda looks like, but isn't.

Ace-Garageguy Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 What eventually tipped me off was the vaguely Karmann Ghia-ish proportions, and the Beetle-ish hubcaps. It didn't take long after that, searching for limited-production cars built on Bug underpinnings.
Earl Marischal Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 The Hillman Minx conv on the other side of it is just like the one my stepfather had. steve
matthijsgrit Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Well done to those who got it right. I had no clue!! Nice car.
W-409 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 I had no clue either. What came to my mind was Borgward Isabella which looks a bit similar. But when I started searching in Google for that, just couldn't find anything but those Borgwards. Now as Bill said it, those hubcaps definitely are looking like VW Bug parts. That would have been a good clue if I had noticed it.
