Ich_Will Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 The long awaited completion of the convertible! I’m thrilled with the blue/tan combo. From a car I almost didn’t do, to one of my favorite finished products. It’s not perfect, but I’m happy. I’ll keep the soft top off as it fits poorly, but I did take the time to make it more realistic with masking tape. I also opted for the very 80’s yellow fog lights.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 You know, sometimes a little paint problem on the WIP works in your favor. The metallic blue looks way better than the solid blue, and really suits the car.
FabbricaP Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Looks great! I must say I like this metallic blue better than the original solid blue you had. Is this the Revell kit? I’m having similar soft top fit issues with a Revell BMW convertible right now.. warped beyond repair
Ich_Will Posted October 22, 2018 Author Posted October 22, 2018 Thanks for all the positive comments! I’m glad I changed colors. And kept at it. It almost went in the bin a few times.

It seems to just be a poor design for the top on this. I think if I took out the “glass” I could use some clear styrene and it would be lots better
Tommy124 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Nice result, I like the Benz! 15 hours ago, FabbricaP said: I’m having similar soft top fit issues with a Revell BMW convertible right now.. warped beyond repair Did you try to carefully bend and re-shape it in very warm water?
Jim N Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Very nice. The color and your use of a wash on the grill and wheels look great!
Funkychiken Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 great finish! I really like the 190E too! sits well on your shelf with a collection of autobhanstormers
Dann Tier Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 OUSTANDING, bud!!!......you got it done, and it looks beautiful!!!
Oldcarfan27 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Compared to the disaster it was when you started, you did a great job finishing it. I'm glad you stuck with it and didn't give up!
