"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

I started this about four years ago but a household move and a home remodel stalled it for a while. I decided to start working on it again while we were having a bad winter (over 70 inches of snow). Some parts were lost during the move, so I'm installing an LT5 engine from a '95 ZR1.

Small update found my frame material did a little more work on the rear most differential.

Went to hobby lobby and in the craft section found just about the right size non glittery rhinestone.

So sanded it down to get it semi round to represent the housing cover.

Here's a couple pics including the .010 X .060 strips used to make the arch across the top and bottom of the housing.

Shown next to a normal #11 style exacto handle for size comparison.

So b4 I call it a night I built a quickie frame  for this truck.

Let me know what you think good bad or ugly.

The frame by itself then with the grill test fit then the cab.

On the cab i filled in the headlights as the stock headlight parts don't extend to the corner of the cab like they should.

Enjoy

I've begun installing the harness. Detail Master's instructions could stand to be a bit more thorough, but, by studying photos of real assemblies, I think I figured it out. One recommendation I will make is to replace the photo-etched bars for the adjusters with brass rod--that makes things much easier! I still need to trim those. I also have touch up to do, along with installing the rest of the clasp assembly. I will also dry brush some highlights on the straps, once they are permanently installed and "posed". The shoulder harness in the photo is simply hanging there, as it still needs hardware.

Oh yeah, Straightliner59's in Round 3, but if he doesn't GITTER DONE this time (by the end of June), I'm gonna give up and kick him out.  The name of the game, after all, is GITTER DONEB)

I should finish this time, with time to bring  out something else, to carry to round four!

You gonna drag another one off the Shelf of Doom? B)

Sure! I’m going to put it to a vote.

I’ll post a picture tomorrow of a bunch of projects. Whichever one gets the most votes by Wednesday is the one I’ll  do next.?

Why waste time? At the speed you work, you could have another one DONE by Wednesday! B)

Another small update.

Started working on a generic v8 for this truck.

Cut the grill apart so I can eventually make it tilt.

Using my GMC crackerbox as rough guidelines for the motor Yup i know it's a Jimmy 6 and i'm doing an 8.

Well a little more progress still need to beef up this generic V8 with pullies.

So here are 3 rough shots of the motor, in the frame, in the frame with cab.

Also working on the mufflers and air cleaners
