Sine my 4 door Galaxie is almost done I’ve got a new project getting ready in the wings. I am going to build a 66 Chevelle wagon using the Replica & Minatures stock conversion. It contains a flat hood, stock height front suspension, tires, steel wheels and dog dish hub caps. Should make for an interesting build. Now the decision of what engine/trans to build it with. Any suggestions on a donor kit for a good small block/ auto trans would be welcome.

A small block from the Revell '69 Z/28 kit with any of the 4-bbl intakes from the Revell or AMT kits.......... ???

The stock hood from the Revell '66 El Camino might fit if you have one laying around....

I may have solved my engine issue, I think I’m going to go with the engine trans combo from the Revell 64 Impala. It’s a 283/auto. I’ve only got one in my stash of kits so now to find one reasonably priced.

That's the engine I used on my wagon. Also, I picked up the Model Car Garage 66 Chevelle Photoetch set. It gives you all the emblems needed to do the car.

You should get some plastic tubing to mate the manifolds to the exhaust pipes.

The bought it on EBay a while ago. I’ve done one already by using the 66 ElCamino for the hood and full wheel covers. This build will have a small block and dog dish hubcaps.

Didn’t get much accomplished yet, already had to strip the primer off of the body, had an accident while trying to paint in the attic. So I’m think I’m going with Artesian Turquoise with matching interior. Trying to decide what color flocking to use. These are 2 that I have on hand. I also have a pic of the conversion parts.

I was wondering about a conversion for this kit. How did you order it and how much did it cost?

Here is the conversion set.

here's a link to my album showing stuff I have purchased from them. There are sample catalogs in there too for contact info. One of the top 3 best resin casters out there.

The phot etch set you are talking about is that the one for the Lindberg kit?

Not much accomplished yet, I have got some stuff primed and test fitting the engine. The Impala kit uses the ram horn type mainfolds, the seem to interfere with the front crossmember. Does anyone know if there was a different type small block manifold used by Chevy on the A body platform.?

Should be cool. I used a Trumpeter 6 in mine. Mine is a day 2 car, the owner liked the rally wheels that became available in 67 and bought a set for his wagon.:P

See if you have a Revell '69 Nova SS kit. This kit has the correct exhaust manifolds replicating the ones that GM started using on their Nova/Camaro and Chevelle small blocks at that time.

I have since solved the manifold problem, going to use the manifolds from the 69 Nova. I got some of the interior painted, going with actual M2 Aqua. Using interior paint from Year One.

That is looking nice, great color choice. I was working on the one I have had semi finished earlier today, need to get motivated and wrap up a couple of WIPs.

Glad to see you're getting a chance to work on this again. I like the colors for the interior. As I recall the seat inserts were a few shades darker and that really added to the appearance.

Looking good, I also built one of these and swapped hoods and hub caps with the elco kit. This is going to look cool with the poverty caps.
