I will find the ugly thing and add it. Forgot to tell you. If you have Facebook, we have a Box Art Replicas group. You'd be a shoe in for a banner photo.

I can't believe AMT can't make that hood fit better. Ed Fluck at Drag City Castings has a resin hood that has been reworked for an improved fit. He also has repros of the kit's original custom exhaust dumps. Ed's stuff is first-rate, too. Edited November 20, 2018 by Allen Wrench
Allen Wrench Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 You did a great job considering what you had to work with. I bought one of those kits with the intent of doing a simple box stock or box art build, but I ended up selling it after I realized how much work it would take to do that and wind up with a model that looked halfway presentable.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 WOW, this one looks pretty cool. I know what you mean about small defects, but you are talking about a hand finished thing, and even the models that look perfect, always have a little detail here and there. I just live with the defects and imperfections. You can go crazy trying to avoid a little mistake, and that defies the purpose of building those things in the first place.
mustang1989 Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Good lookin build Ray!! Hate to hear about the issues...........especially with the BMF. That's the second time I've seen that stuff pull up paint. What kind of paint did you use?
cobraman Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 I used Duplicolor paint and clear. I think I rushed the BMF to be honest.
Southern Fried Posted November 23, 2018 Posted November 23, 2018 Nice choice. It's good to see a nice build of this old "friend. I couldn't say how many of this kit I had over the years. I remember it as being among some of my earlist builds. The "Box Art" is really a good selection. To bad you lost the scoop, however it still looks "right"...
