I saw this kit (built) during Euro Scale Modelling on the Revell stand and I must say I really DISliked the wheel placement. Looked terrible. The wheels were peeking out of their arches, so they seemed to be to wide.

On the same show I saw another GT (Profil 24 I think). It looked waaaaaaay better!

Anyway, if this can be tweeked, great kit for the money I guess!

There was a built up (test shot) of that Ford GT at the Milwaukee NNL back in April of this year and it looked awesome.

The one at Milwaukee was Dave Thibodeau's test build up for Revell. Also the kit in the Scale Auto issue from August.

I'm not sure who did the build up at the Euro shows cause I'm pretty sure it wasnt Dave's, he did the 67 car and the ones at the EU shows I think was the 66.

Pic of Dave's GT at Telford, The wheels look pretty tucked in to me, not sure which version you saw at Euro Scale Modelling.

Yep, I see the difference!!!

Buy the US kit, I'd say  ?

There is only one kit. My guess is whomever built the one you saw didn't push the wheels completely onto the axles.

Yeah, James is right, there's only one kit. Originally it was suppose to be put out by Revell USA, then Germany picked up the development and finished it off with the demise of USA. I think Germany was going to produce and release it as well but like the C7R, after the USA section did. And yes, I bet the wheels werent pushed onto the axles enough.

I believe matthijsgrit meant buy the Revell over the Profil24 version.

Thats how I took it.

Well the Profil24 one is the 2016 car which has a significantly different rear splitter configuration amongst other details. That's what was interesting about the Revell kit for a time as the initial art displayed the 2016 car, but then the kits were showing 2017 livery and configuration, sometimes on the same display platform.

For anyone looking for a different building option for this kit, Shunko Models (Japanese decal maker) will be offering two sheets in January to use with the new metallic red/blue colors being offered by Splash Paints and Gravity Colors.  One sheet is for the U.K. based team that ran in WEC, and the other the U.S. based team that ran in IMSA/Weathertech.  Both sheets offer the 2018 24hrs of Le Mans sponsorships, in addition the specific team sheets will offer a secondary continent specific option.

Team U.K. will offer the 6hrs of Spa-Francorchamps which the #66 car won the LMGTE Pro Class.
