I completed 42 model car projects this year: 16 glue bomb rescues and survivor restorations, 18 diecast Snake-Fus, and 8 “new” kits built entirely and completely by me (though most started before 2018—in some cases, DECADES before). I”ve already posted the diecasts in that section, and will post the GBRs soon, but here's my eight “new” builds for 2018.

’69 Charger 500: Started and painted in early '90s, sentenced to the Shelf of Doom, paroled and finally finished February 4.

2016 Camaro: Might have started in 2017 but mostly built this year. Finished March 2.

’70 Chevelle Revell Snapper: Started, painted, stripped, painted again 2014, finally finished March 19.

’53 Corvette: Started last year or maybe in 2016, but finally finished March 31.

’77 Monza/76 Skyhawk: Started and painted sometime in the mid-'80s as a model of the '76 Buick Skyhawk I was driving at the time. Finally finished April 15.

Thanks for looking, and for all the kind comments and support throughout the year. As always, comments welcome and appreciated. B)

I thought you were on the "Anti Year In Review Posts" side of the aisle  , maybe I was mistaken . Anyways glad to see you post these again , great job on all of them !  Don't recall seeing the '40 ford before ,  I kind of like the simple look and it being left in primer . . . very cool ! :D

Wait, Do you mean that the VW was painted like 49 years ago?  WOW!

Yeah, it was painted in either 1969 or 1970, I don't remember exactly when. AMT Burnt Orange Metallic lacquer. I wish I had a case of that stuff today! B)

I figured I'd try it this year..."If you can't beat em, join em" and all that. I just finished the '40 Ford on New Years Eve and haven't posted it Under Glass yet, just one pic in the BOYD group build in the Workbench. I'll do the full writeup/posting on in a couple weeks when most of the "My 2018" threads have dropped off....B)

Love the '40 Ford.  Is the vent glass open?

Good eye! Yes, it is. The vent windows were among the last things I did on the model. The right one just barely went in kinda sorta the way it should have, more or less, but I couldn't get the left one to fit AT ALL. So my powerful brain came up with the idea to just glue it in OPEN. BOO-YA! :lol:B)

Yes, it served nearly half a century on the Shelf of Doom! :lol:B)

You must have the record for the most completions in a year, no matter when they were started!  There must be a lot of shelves at the Snakepit!   They all look great, I like the Monza/Skyhawk.

That's a good looking group Snake. I especially like the Vette.

That's just polished white plastic. I liked it so much when I was finished that I"m considering building a series of polished white plastic Corvettes with red interiors. I have a '59 already under construction, and I think a '63 might be next.
