Ok, been downloading pictures just fine, but, I had to install Windows 10 and now I can't download now. Anybody know why? I'm old and computer dumb. All help would be appreciated!

Which browser are you using? IE (Internet Explorer) doesn't seem IMO to play as nice as FireFox. And don't get me started on Chrome..........I don't care for that one at all!

Make sure you're signed in also. That may help with the download/upload issue.

I would install firefox and set it as your browser. Make sure you download it from the firefox site though

Terry for some reason after an update of windows 10 I have had a hard time uploading photos. Not that I do post photos much but they are in a different place as thy were before. and Yes I am not very computer literate at all. Not sure what the problem is though.

I have Chrome and Windows 10. All pictures that I copy from web sites or are downloaded from my camera go into Cloud onedrive. I move them over to my pictures and then use "choose files" at bottom of reply screen. Hope this helps.

Are you uploading images directly from your phone, laptop, tablet, or some other device? Linking to an online image hosting service like Photobucket fotki, etc?

I use Chrome on both my phone and laptop, and upload images from them to the forum without any issues. Same with images I have stored in my Photobucket account. I just copy the direct link to the image, and post it in the reply box here, and it automatically appears.

I click on the underlined "choose files", then select the images I want to upload to the forum:

How are you trying to upload images now that isn't working for you?

What I do is download them from my phone to computer, click on them to "make copy" , paste that to desktop. I've tried both, 1) To 'Drag and Drop. 2) to download them using the underlined "choose files". neither one will work. Before Windows ten and chrome , I use to just use "Choose Files" with no problem

I doubt that. You're smart enough to build model cars. That already makes you smarter than most people.

I don't remember when that "old" thing happened. I work up one morning, and "BLAM" , I was old.......................(rats!)

If you have existing photos too large to copy to the forum, you can use GIMP 2 to shrink the pixel count.  Open the too-large photo in GIMP, then use Export As (under File) and set the export percentage at a low enough value (30 shrinks a 4 MB file to about 200 KB) and export to a new, shrunken, forum-ready file.

Thanks. I'll save that!:D
